Japanese Occupation Of Singapore In World War Ii?

I have just read some writeup on Lim Bo Seng, Singapore’s war-time hero.
I want to ask what happened to all those Japanese military people who did all the crimes in Singapore ? Are they put to trial ? Hanged or imprisoned ?
Also, do current generation of Japanese know what their ancestors have done in World War II ?

About Currency! Canada Is So Unusual!?

hey… i’m wondering… how does the financial market flows?
We all know, that US is at the middle of financial crisis… but how come that US dollar continues to be appreciated? and other currencies record a low value for years…
1 US dollar= 0.79 canadian dollar… and as time goes by… CAD continues to depreciate? why???
I’m from the Philippines, rates towards the Philippines is my vital concern…
here’s the November 20, 2008 rate in Manila…
1 US dollar=49.95
1 Canadian Dollar=39.90
1 Japanese Yen= 0.52
1 British Pound=74.76
1 Euro=62.50
However, early this year, the rate average are as follows!
1 US dollar=41.10
1 Canadian Dollar=40.95
1 British Pound=92.90
1 Japanese Yen=0.40
1 Euro=76.30
As you can see, as the financial crisis go widespread, the YEN and US DOLLAR, continues to be appreciated, despite of their crisis and recessional stage(for Japan)
Why is this so?
I’m also concern with Canadian Dollar?
Why does it moves away from US dollar? We all know, that there are greater impact in the US than Canada of the crisis. And early this year, the loonie records higher than US for a session. And as we reaches this world crisis, now.. 1 CAD is 1 USD? How come??
Pls explain it to me… I’m really concern…
How great is the impact in the British economy that depreciate the value of pounds for almost 30-45%? And yet, they’re not in recession.
Lastly, what’s the basis of points in Stock Market. In news, they say… TSX down by 300 points.. what do they mean by points? how it is computed? Does it mean the higher the points, the greater is the market? If it does, why NASDAQ has lesser points than Hang Seng? or Why does NIKKEI has greater value than FTSE?
PLEASE ANSWER ME..

Why Japans Stock Index Nikkie Falling Since 1990 Contineously?

If compared with other world stock indices like dow jones, hang seng it is found that nikkie is falling every year. it came down from 38000 to 16000. I cant understand why this happened.
